Customs & procurement

  • Duty-free import and domestic procurement of goods for the development, operation, and maintenance of SEZ units.
  • Exemption from customs and excise duties for development of SEZs for authorized operations approved by the SEZ Board of Approval (BOA).

GST & supply

  • Under the IGST Act, 2017, supplies to SEZ units or developers are treated as “zero-rated supplies”. This means no IGST is charged on goods or services supplied to SEZs and suppliers can claim refunds on taxes paid.
